Started playing drums at age eleven in the late 1950’s. By 1964 he was performing at the world-famous Coconut Grove Ballroom in Santa Cruz with the Gold Coast Five. His powerhouse, funky, syncopated double-bass drumming was the driving force behind the popular Santa Cruz based blues/rock band, Snail, with whom he toured and recorded extensively throughout the late 60’s and early 70’s. Fillmore has played with blues legend Freddie King and in the late 70’s toured with country singer/songwriter Larry Hosford with ‘Telemaster’ Danny Gatton on guitar. In the early 80’s he jammed often and was offered a job with Steve Marriot (Small Faces, Humble Pie) and Leslie West (Mountain).
Truly the ‘spark plug’ of the Shuffle, Guido’s bass lines are always solid and funky. Guido exudes abundant energy whether he’s playing a jump-blues, a walking jazz line, or a syncopated soul riff. His smokey vocal style is all his own. Always a crowd pleaser - Guido comes to play!
Hailing from Oakland, Ca., Hager is a 30-year veteran of numerous bay area blues bands. Employing a classic ‘Strat’, his guitar work burns in the Texas and Chicago blues styles adding a rougher texture to the Shuffle’s sound. Always a high point of any Shuffle performance, his harp playing is simply outstanding and loaded with tone and soul. Though steeped in the styles of the masters, he brings forth a sound and energy that is all his own.
Silveira picked up the guitar at an early age and started performing in the early 1960’s in the Monterey Bay area. Silveira has performed and recorded with members of Tower of Power, Bonnie Raitt and the Doobie Brothers. Drawing from blues & jazz guitar influences, his guitar work combines an uptown blues style with a lowdown jazz groove. Doug frequently sits-in with pianist Fenton Murray @ The Wooden Nickel Too on Fri. Nights in Freedom, Ca..
